New! Tommy Lee & Figure – Pounds of Blood

Former Motley Crue drummer, husband of Pamela Anderson and professional riot maker, Tommy Lee has teamed up with the hottest drumstep monster off Play Me Records, Figure, to put out some awesome bass music. When I saw that this had happened I was skeptical, thinking that maybe Lee (who’s birth name is actually Tommy Bass) was just trying to draw attention to himself again after fading from public view, and he may have been doing that, but after hearing this track, I say Tommy Lee deserves our attention again. This tune is amazing, the unlikely duo uses metal chords and rhythm along with some crazy uptempo wobbles and womps in a dope combination to create a unique sound that is equal parts creepy and raging. Figure is steadily becoming one of my favorite producers, he never ceases to disappoint and is always doing something creative. He has no respect for the boundaries of electronic music, and somehow it keeps working for him. What should we expect next from the small town bass fiend? Moombahstep? Drumcore? Glitch Bass? All I know is I’m looking forward to it.
