Mashups and Mixes Pt. VII
Will Smith – Fresh Prince of Bel Air (Mustard Pimp Remix): Let’s start off things with a really cool remix of some classic Will Smith. Definitely awesome if you like electronic music.
Nicki Minaj – Check It Out feat. will.i.am (Tommie Sunshine’s 5AM Edit): You may not know the original, but it’s Nicki’s latest material. It’ll probably hit the airwaves soon, but I find it super annoying. Not only does Tommie Sunshine make it tolerable, he makes it awesome.
Kanye West, Lil Wayne, T.I., & Jay-Z – U Ain’t Neva Gotta Ask: This is the only mashup I’ve got for you in this edition, but it’s a pretty good one. Don’t know who mashed it, but good job.
Usher – DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love Again feat. Pitbull (Hyper Crush Remix): One of my favorite Hyper Crush remixes so far. There’s a little dubstep in this one.
Dub Kweli – Words High: This project by Max Tannone is actually pretty cool. This mash features Kanye West.
Far East Movement – Like A G6 (Chew Fu Remix): I feel like I’ve heard this song a billion times now, but Chew Fu actually has a pretty interesting take on it. As usual, great for parties.
Holy Ghost! – Static On The Wire (RAC Remix): A couple of volumes ago, we posted a Holy Ghost! remix, so why not post another awesome RAC Remix of this HG! original.
Maximum Balloon – Groove Me feat. Theophilus London (Alex Metric Remix): This is my favorite Maximum Balloon song, and while Alex Metric made it less funky, it’s definitely more party suitable now.
Gyptian – Hold Yuh (Major Lazer Remix): I finally downloaded Major Lazer’s 2009 album yesterday, and it’s awesomeness encouraged me to scavenge for more – this is what I found. I think the point of this remix is to make the lyrics super clear then just mock the fact you still can’t understand 90% of what he says.
