Fresh set of banging tracks for your raging pleasure this weekend! This week’s collection includes some old school style dubstep that should remind you of dancehall or reggae but with a little bit heavier bass. The first tune, “Rock The Boat”, isn’t so much raging as it is ridiculous. Dank Gravy samples Family Guy and brings us a glitchy beat that deserves to be heard. The highlight of this week’s playlist is the drum’n'bass at the beginning and the house that is at the tail. A few of the tracks may not appeal to non-bassheads and for that, I apologize. The rest of the tunes will satisfy any urge to party you may have, the d’n'b is heavy and smooth and the house is creative and pumped up. Enjoy this week’s set!

**this post is sticky, scroll down for new decentlydope content**
2011 was a hell of a year for decedope. Our blog has changed management and shifted focus to cover more electronic music in the last year and has nearly doubled viewership. We appreciate everyone who visits the site, we all love sharing music and are thankful to be able to share our favorites with all of you. With that said, we invite you to check out the new “albums of 2011″ page on our site which includes 15 albums,EPs and mixtapes that members of this staff chose as their favorites of the past year. Some albums can be downloaded for free via the site and others only have a few tracks available, in either case there is plenty of free music for everyone to enjoy! The collection should serve as an massive dose of multigenre madness to send out 2011 and get 2012 going with steez. We hope y’all dig the albums as much as we do, here’s to a decentlydope year!

Sorry guys I know I said awhile back that we (I) would start posting more genres of music that I found really good or interesting that aren’t usually on the site, but I’ve been slacking real bad. Maybe sitting down for this whole weekend and listening to nothing but music I wouldn’t normally click on will do the trick (maybe). This song was on my friends mix she made me so here you go, just press play because I don’t know what to say lol.

Looks like every artists is going to experiment with this new sound to see how they can extend their reach. Rusko joins the classic group, Cypress Hill to create what I’m hearing is an EP full of dubstep infused songs. Not sure how I feel about this single yet but I will keep playing it and get back to you (I probably won’t lol.) Rage out!

The very talented 16 year old Birdy sings this amazing cover to James Taylor’s song “Fire and Rain.” Wonder how good this girl is going to be in five years? [via]

What an amazing video Derek Vincent Smith has decided to give to all of us! This smooth classic soulful hip-hop style jam is accompanied by a very well produced video that shows scenes from what looks like many places throughout the world and in the US. This song samples one of my favorite beats that Wiz has ever got on in his song “When U Find.” You can listen to the original 1968 version here.
“Times will get bad, and the whole wide world, will come down on you…. You must go on.”
“I wish that I could tell you how I feel. It’s so real, it’s so real.”

Hey guys! Otto Knows, obviously out of Sweden, came out with an official Soundcloud preview of “Million Voices” yesterday. The track was previewed in Avicii’s second podcast of Le7els on Sirius XM, and Otto Knows himself is heavily supported by Avicii as well as Tiesto. I’m always a sucker for upbeat EDM productions with looped vocals so this mix is right up my alley. We’ll continue to track the kid but check out the stream and head back here February 8th for the orginial!

Hey guys! Pierce Fulton, a top-5 EDM rookie on my list, came out with a 2 minute preview of his single, “Who Wants Spaghetti”. I can’t give any reasons as to why he might name his track as such, but this progressive mix has a pretty sweet drum and bassline, which only backs up his potential. Check back here on February 14th for the release!

Hey guys! American EDM artist Wolfgang Gartner is coming off of his latest album, Weekend In America. But he’s back in action and has just released a preview of his new single, “There and Back”. I’ve always liked Gartner since “Illmerica”, and I definitely thought his album was a top 20 album from 2011, so I’m definitely excited to see what else he has in store for us. But for now, check out the stream and grab the track on Beatport January 31st, or iTunes February 14th!

Very interesting combination of artists right here but it’s such a dope song! These two must have some great chemistry in the booth because next month they are releasing a collaborative EP titled Slumdon Bridge. I’m excited to hear what they create but until then check out this one called “You Don’t Know (For F*ck Sake)”

I would like to introduce everyone to my favorite band the same way I was with this euphoric set from the greatest place on earth, Nelson Ledges (Jordo can vouch). Umph is a 6 piece band with a similar set up to the Grateful Dead, 2 percussionists, 2 guitars, bass, and keys, although they have a style like no other band I’ve heard. “Umphrey’s McGee stand revealed as consummate musical alchemists, deftly reconfiguring sounds from rock’s vast panoply of styles.” (Entertainment Weekly) As of now I have been to 10+ shows and I have yet to hear a 2 sets that sound alike and of their 10+ year s of being a band they have yet to play the same set list twice. This is due to the fact that they make each set up right before the show and improvise as the night goes on. They take being a band to a new level by hosting interactive shows called S2′s where they utilize technology and let the fans conduct jams by texting in to vote for the songs they want played or themes/mash-ups that the band improvises on the fly. Anyways, be sure to check out the Great American –> Young Lust –> Great American and the 40′s theme encore. I hope this set from Gratefulfest turns you into an umphreak like it did me. \||||/
